About Louise
Louise began dancing as a five year old taking jazz and tap lessons. By 13 she was already teaching and dancing professionally with the Paramount Revue, a teen dance revue in the central PA area. After receiving her secondary education degree from Albright College in Reading, Louise taught at Schuylkill Valley High and also began studying and teaching ballroom dancing with a dance studio in Reading. After several years, she opened her own studio - Step At A Time - in the Hamburg area. Training with many of the outstanding ballroom teachers on the East Coast and competing in numerous competitions, Louise's professional competition career culminated with Louise and her partner Ludwig Dahlberg placing sixth in the International Modern Division of the United States Professional Ballroom Championships.
In 1985 Louise started her new studio - the Louise Lamar Dance Studio - at her current location in New Schaefferstown.
Louise is a member of several professional dance organizations including the North American Dancesport Teachers Association, the National Dance Council of America and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing.
